TROUT STOCKINGS:

The Club will be purchasing trout to be stocked in local streams during the peak of season. The stockings will take place in late April / early May (3 Wednesday mornings biweekly, sequentially) and will take place during the weeks that the State stockings will KOT be taking place. Two stockings will take place in Laurel I fill Creek and one will take place in both Fall Run and Blue Hole Run.

  • May 21st, 2025 at Blue Hole Road

  • May 24th, 2025 Club Pond (Kids Only)

TIME: Starting at 8:00 AM

Hot Dogs, Chips and Drinks Provided

Parking at the Club house with walk in to pond only.

Format
  • $70 per Shooter

  • Shooters will be organized in groups of 4 

  • Individuals will be allocated into teams with available slots

  • Every participant shoots at 15 to 18 stations for a total of 100 birds

Safety Guidelines
  • Shooters are permitted to use trap loads only (nothing greater than 7 ½ shot)

  • Bring your own ammunition (100 rounds for shootout); limited availability at Buffer Creek

  • Eye and Ear protection required!

In addition…
  • Lunch and Soft Drinks will be provided!!!

  • Prizes will be awarded to the top shooters in Men’s, Ladies and Youth (ages 14 and younger) groups

  • Door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and a gun raffle

NOT BE GUARANTEED A MORNING SESSION, THIS WILL BE ON A FIRSTCOME-

YOUTH FIELD DAY

SRGC Youth Field Day was held Saturday, August 2, 2025.  

19 Youth enjoyed the day moving through 8 stations.  31 volunteers helped to make this a successful and fun day.  The 8 stations were shotgun shooting, muzzleloader shooting, fly fishing, archery, trapping, 22 shooting, turkey calling, and blue  bird box building.   Everyone also enjoyed a  nice lunch.  The day ended with several kids winning prizes from  a raffle.

Those winners and prizes were:

  • Jack Devine -  Winchester Wildcat 22 (donated by CharBQue)

  • Makayla  Findling -  Camo backpack  (donated by Bob Reed)

We also raffled a  framed Wild Turkey Print (print donated by PA Game Commission, frame made and donated by Don Rugg) This winner was drawn by the first evening 3 digit drawing of the PA Lottery August 2nd.  The winner was Angela Pelar of Berlin.

$1000 Jim “Hummer” Pletcher Award 

A Rockwood graduating senior will be awarded the James "Hummer" Pletcher Award in June for $1000.

PA HUNTER EDUCATION CLASS

PA Hunter's Eduction Course was held at
SRGC Saturday, August 16, 2025

Saturday, August 16, 2025 we had 25 taking the test.  All passed and are now certified PA Hunter's.  Congratulations to all!  Thank you to Instructors Albert Hay and Sam Beachy.  Special thank you to Nikki Bain for preparing a wonderful lunch for everyone.     We hope all new Hunter's will enjoy a safe and successful hunting season.

Fall Gun Tickets will go on sale in September!

SOMERSET COUNTY SPORTSMEN'S LEAGUE:

The Somerset County Sportsmen's League Meetings will take place on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm. All are welcome to attend the meetings. The hosting clubs are as follow:
